Brief Description:

The Peninsula Scholarship Fund was established with the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia in 2012. The fund is a gift from Carolyn Pendeleton Lackey, a lifelong resident of the peninsula. Carolyn Pendeleton Lackey (Video) established the scholarship fund through her will so that young people in our community would have the opportunity to succeed. The fund provides annual scholarships to Virginia Peninsula students of high academic achievement (having maintained a minimum of a “B” average).

The applicants must be in need of financial aid for post-secondary education at a four-year college or university. The Virginia Peninsula includes: Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, James City County and York County.
