Brief Description:

The Julie M. Sager Memorial Scholarship is named for Tabb Elementary School teacher Julie M. Sager, who taught elementary students for eighteen years before passing away in early 2013 after a six year battle with cancer. The $ 1,000 scholarship is available to any senior at Tabb, York, Bruton or Grafton High Schools who plans on pursuing a career in the field of education. This scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 award. Julie Sager believed in the importance of a good education and prided herself on giving children the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for long-term success. Her passion in life was helping others and the children, parents, and her colleagues at Tabb Elementary meant a great deal to her and gave her strength and encouragement. Her husband and three daughters established this scholarship in memory of Julie Sager and her passion for educating children. It is their hope that Mrs. Sager’s commitment to educating the youth in York County will live on with the support this scholarship will provide for future teachers
